About

We understand surprisingly little about the ocean, and even less of that knowledge reaches the public. My goal is to change this and start having informed conversations about marine science, conservation and policy.

The name “Thalialogue” combines two words: Thálassa, the ancient Greek word for sea, and Dialogue, reflecting my attempt to initiate a conversation on this topic.

As a marine scientist, I created Thalialogue as an open space to discuss our blue planet. Think of it as the roundtable where we break down new discoveries about deep-sea life, debate the effectiveness of marine protected areas, and translate complex policies into clear next steps.
